Parasitoid Wasp

A parasitoid wasp (Sapyga quinquepunctata) feeding on a mayweed flower. This is a wasp parasite of Mason Bees. It lays its eggs in the mason bee's nest and it's emerging larvae then sucks on the bee egg before it's had a chance to hatch. It then eats the stored food in the nest. Seems there's a war raging on my balcony!
